Title: AOL UK
Post by Dave on Aug 20th, 2007 at 11:29pm
Just stumbled across some AOL numbers around 0117 3299100 and 0117 3299900 / 329999x  ;)

Also try 0117 3299200 / 300 etc

Title: An alternative to AOL's 0844 number..???
Post by jwaneng on Oct 31st, 2010 at 12:32pm
I've recently had to pay AOL almost £6.00 for calling their technical help department. Most of the charge arose from simply having to wait (and listen to awful music) and from constantly being misdirected to the wrong person / department. Does anyone out there have an alternative to their current 0844 499 5555 number. I believe AOL UK has now been taken over by TalkTalk but I couldn't get an alternative geographic number on here.

Many thanks for any help / suggestions!

As you can see, I came across some AOL numbers over three years ago. Since that time, no one has used that information to look for suitable alternative(s) for AOL's technical support line.

Yet, it has taken me only around half an hour to uncover what I suspect are suitable alternatives. Some simple digging revealed:

All numbers start 0117 329 9xxx:

102 "Thank you for holding… A member of the AOL Broadband Support team will be with you shortly."
105 representatives busy (no idea what department)
107 Executive support team
112 Experiencing high volume of calls; support
113 Experiencing high volume of calls; support
120 AOL Talk options (not broadband support)
124 press 1 for technical support
126 straight to agent; customer support and billing
147 press 1 for technical support

Please let us know what you try, what works and what doesn't as this will help others with the same query. I would like to list a suitable alternative in the database, so please provide feedback.  :)

What a pity ALL of the above numbers are coming back with, "sorry this number is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later or contact your service-provider".

I think that Talktalk has probably caught on to these geographic alternatives since taking over AOL(UK).....????

Thanks for digging around, in any case.

I've just tried them all again from my BT line and they are accessible and respond as they did before (albeit with the absence of high volume of calls messages).

Try calling one from your mobile or another telephone provider, if it's available to you.

Please let me know the best alternative (or alternatives if there's more than one) which is for AOL technical support, so I can list it in the database.  :)

I've removed this entry from the database:

AOL (UK)                   020 7348 8000             Head Office Switchboard  Also 020 73488303  Fax: 020 73488002  Advertising - 020 73488194 & 020 73482500

7348 8000, 8002, 8303 and 8194 are all busy and 7348 2500 is not recognised.
