Does anyone have a Geographical no for Natwest Telephone Banking - currently use 08457 888 444 but on my talktalk package I get all UK & most Overseas calls free (but not 0845 or other premium nos). They also have an overseas no (calling them from abroad) 44-(0) 8705-888-444 But that costs also.

Try +44 1423 534730. In the UK, just put a zero in front of 1423 and drop the 44. It might be worth hiding your caller ID so they don't know you are in the UK. I don't know the dialling prefix to do that, but I think the instructions have been posted here before.

I used to have an account with them some years ago. I wrote and told them I was closing it as I wasn't prepared to pay a King's ransom calling their pathetic number from overseas. They didn't seem to care - but should I be surprised?

In the UK dial 141 to withold one's CLI.
Dial this before any code such as 18185, 1260 etc.

The database lists 01274 394611 alongside the 0845 number you've quoted.

I used to use the same telephone number but the geographical number is 0151 733 5791 it works a treat.

The number for Nat West Telephone banking given by the bank is 08456041604 and this has not changed, but the alternate number that I used to use 01274394611 has now stopped working.

I have done some searching of the forums on here, and also some Google searching but I have come up with nothing.

Any help would be great as I usually call from my mobile.

There was a verified entry for 0845 604 1604 with an alternative of 0121 236 8837 which is now not recognised and I have therefore removed it from our database. The entry with 01274 394611 as the alternative was unverified, and I have removed this too. This number is also not recognised.


Perhaps there are different 08 numbers for telephone banking with different types of accounts and maybe the alternative for one will work for others. This is certainly a possibility as the alternative 01274 394611 was given for 0845 788 8444 among others.

Unfortunately, the NatWest contact page now gives +44 870 588 8444 as the overseas alternative for 0845 788 8444. :-X


The number 0151 733 5791, given previously on this thread appears to work.

Also, search the database for natwest (this is one word; i.e. without any space). There may be some in there; 023 8022 6443 answers with the same IVR (automated menu).


Let me know how you get on; what you try; what works and what doesn't and I will update the listings accordingly. :)

The 0151 733 5791 number seems to work fine, but seeing as the number I used to use has been discontinued, I wonder how long it will take Nat West to close this one and once again milk us for cash when phoning, but I am being a bit of a doom and gloom monger, because you have sorted my problem for me in under 2 hours, and for that I thank you very much.

Thanks for the feedback. I've now updated all the entries that had 01274 394611 as their alternative, listing 0151 733 5791 instead.  :)


Please provide any feedback on the database through the forum, in the Geographical Requests section. This includes any unverified numbers which work and can therefore be verified, or any numbers that don't work and therefore require removal.

i used to use 01189  323 783 not sure if its telephone banking but i have gotten through to a call centre

It seems that Nat West have swapped their geographical numbers for 0845 numbers for each branch.

For instance, the Wednesfield (Wolverhampton) Branch is now 0845 301 9792.

The call must obviously still be going through a call centre who transfers the call to the branch.

Seems a strange way of operating but I am sure they are not out of pocket because of it!

Thanks for pointing out that this number doesn't work any more.

I have spent a couple of hours tidying up the NatWest entries. Because there are so many, there are those which I've not touched. If someone else wishes to do more work then that will be appreciated. You can post here or send me your findings via the private messaging system.

I have, however, come across new alternatives for customer services and telephone banking. These are 01634 890876 and 023 8022 6443. I have listed the former. I have also listed 0800 200400 with a note to say select the option for existing-customer enquiries.

The number for new customers is 0800 200400 which has an option for existing customers (number 2) and this goes through to the same menu as on 0845 788 8444 (and others). The number 0121 695 9238 matches this 0800 number.

The official number given by NatWest remains as:

For your accounts in England / Wales: 03457 888 444
For your accounts in Scotland: 03459 000 200

both are provided by the NatWest help centre.   :)
