Needless to say, a suitable reply was sent to the below.

Quote:
Dear Mxxxxxxxxx

Thank you for getting a car insurance quote from RAC.

We recently quoted you £172.98 to insure your 2008 Toyota Yaris 1296cc Tr Vvt.

Have you found a cheaper quote?

To make sure you are only paying for the cover you need and to check you are receiving any policy discounts you may be entitled to, why not give one of our consultants a call to see if we can revise your premium.

Simply give us a call FREE on 0844 891 3560, and we will go through your quote with you to see if we can get you a better price.

Kind regards

Andrea Ellis
Head of Sales and Retention
RAC

If they don't give you the best quote first time, then why bother? And then they have to lie about charging you a fee for the telephone call!

I seem to recall that RAC didn't want my business for breakdown because its website would not accept my 0844 number as being a valid telephone number.  ::)

The AA seem to understand the non-geo number situation better than RAC - they've issued me with an 0800, a geographical and a mobile number to text in the event of a breakdown.

Aviva is now advising its customers who were unfortunately caught up in the Cornwall floods to ring its 0844 claims line:

At least they aren't claiming it's FREE to call though.

BTW, is the RAC part of the Aviva* (Norwich Union) group now then?

* I always think that's the name of a bus company.

RAC has been part of Aviva for five years now. I think you are thinking of Arriva.  ::)
