Thanks both of you, got through on 01782 600 200.
Ha Ha they kept me on hold with their piped music and I never had to stress once that it was costing an arm and a leg.
Cant tell you how grateful I am.
The number goes through to the Caudwell group, you press 1 for phones and that takes you to a switchboard and i just asked for customer services.

What is the number for? Sales, customer services, phone activation etc.

It's a freephone number, so it is free if you call it from a UK landline. Charges apply from most mobiles, although there is a 020 dial through number you can use so it's charged at 01/02 rates from a mobile.

There is a number in the database for Phones 4U, search phones 4u Wink

01782 600xxx used to be, and presume still is, Caudwell Group head office DDI range - it's about 10 years since I was doing work there and had a copy of the internal phone directory, but at the time they organised it so that numbers ending 0 would be a ring group for a department, with the subsequent sequential numbers being the individuals in that department. [600600 was switch, with 60060x the directors direct numbers..]

They have moved offices since then, however, although apparently retaining the number. I'd expect the allocations to be broadly the same though, if anybody wants to try calling a few to identify the deparments..

This is another number for phones 4u who keep ringing me and trying to get me to upgrade my current contract which runs out in February. I think this is the Head Office number.
I am new to this site so don't know if I'm putting this in the correct forum. You have alternate numbers for Phones 4u but not for this one.

The numbers listed in the database don't necessarily relate only to the non-geographical numbers listed. The 084/087 listed are the ones which we are aware of.

This site has provided some suggestions, so perhaps you could provide some feedback on what is a suitable alternative so I can update the database.

I am rebuilding the entries for this company and will post soon when I have done this. Suffice to say that there are geographic and freephone numbers for sales and customer services for Phones 4u and a geographic number for Dialaphone.
