Perhaps you could try 01384 78884 as given by jgxenite above. I suspect it is a hotel (Googling 01384 78 suggests it might be in DY5). If they won't give you the geographical number for the Dudley office which hosts reservations then try others.

I don't know whether or not this helps but I have an Emerald Card which allows senior citizens (over 55s)a 20% discount at certain times in respect of Premier Inn bookings.  I don't know whether or not it's still in operation but I used it last October and whilst the motel were not happy, it was clearly stated in the group's T&Cs.  I know that it's 0870 577 3300 but I think it is possible to call the main switchboard GN and ask to be transferred.

BTW I have noticed that the sat nav on my car sometimes gives the GNs for some individual motels.

Travelodge must have got wise to people trying to bypass their 0871 Customer Service and Reservations numbers.

When I rang the alternative landline for their HQ in Thame and asked to be put through to first Customer Services and then Reservations, they said they could not do that and gave me the 0871 numbers and an email address instead.

Does anyone have any alternative numbers?

Sorry if I was not clear enough.

I used the 3 landlines that were on the list for Travelodge HQ on this website.

Both 01844 358 500 and 01844 358 716 took me through to a woman on the switchboard, who politely but firmly told me that she could not put me through from there to the Customer Services or Reservations numbers.

I also tried 01844 358 749, but that took me to a mailbox that was not taking messages.

Any more for any more?

I have a couple of numbers that may be direct dials into particular departments but might transfer you to where you want to go.

Spent a little while trying to dig out an alternative for Travelodge but nothing was forthcoming.

Not sure how they deal with international visitors since I'm not sure 0871 numbers are reachable from outside the UK.

The answer is to book with Premier Inn as they are a better quality hotel and at the moment are actually cheaper than Travelodge but have much better standards, customer service and most importantly geographical numbers available.  Cool

I can only speak from my own experience re. Travelodge v. Premier Inn standards.

I have stayed in 2 Travelodges and 1 Premier Inn in Birmingham.

The Travelodge (Central) on Broad Street is an old conversion of an old office block, and looks it. The cleanliness is also not the best. It attracts drunken revellers, and on the lower floors you can often hear the noise of same out on the main road. The staff, however, have been perfectly helpful and polite.

The Premier Inn on Broad Street was purpose-built at - I guess - about the same time. It did not seem to be so plagued with drunken revellers, and was marginally better than the Travelodge (Central) in the other matters that I mentioned. The staff were of about the same standard.

The Travelodge on Newhall Street, which is also pretty central, was purpose-built about two years ago. It had the odd drunken reveller, swiftly dealt with by the staff, who were ok. Being new, it was very well appointed for a budget hotel and despite being central, it is a quiet location.

So I try to stay in the Travelodge on Newhall Street every time I stay in Brum.

Anyway, back to topic: any alternative telephone numbers for the main one?

Last time this happened, I politely but firmly explained I would be taking our booking for 50 people for four nights to any one of the other hotels located in the adjacent streets, just to let them know that by trying to charge a couple of extra quid for booking, they actually lost tens of thousands in business that week.

@catj

Maybe I should try that, if there is a next time.

I think I felt that I did not have much financial muscle, as I was only one person staying for one night.

Still, no harm in trying.

Welcome to the forum Smiley

Don't think they have one but have a look here on how to contact them.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that. I thought that there may be a number. It seems that they do not want anyone to contact them particularly if you complain!

A number for Travelodge reservations and customer services is 0800 408 0797.

I understand that Travelodge reservations and customer services are answered by CPM at its Barcelona office. CPM's UK head office is on Aylesbury Road at Thame, next door to Travelodge's head office.

The address is:

Henri Dunant 9-11
3a Planta 1a
Parque Emresarial
A7
08174 Cugat de Valles (Barcelona)

Tel: +34 93 206 4080
