As well as paying GPs and hospitals, the people of Wakefield and the surrounding towns are charged via a range of 0844 and 0845 numbers.

The majority are 0845, which have been in place the longest. But the council tax payments is a 0844 number charged at 4 pence per minute at all times and the http://www.wakefield.gov.uk/CouncilContacts.htm]Internet Archive[/url] shows that this was introduced last June.
