have searched extensively numerous websites without success and even asked my local inland revenue office for heir geographical tele number. they replied that they dont have on ! is this possible ? any help would be appreciated

In response to an enquiry for Inland Revenue in Postcode area ST1, BT's 118500 Directory Enquiry website produces:

Inland Revenue

(01782) 859100

I think that's in Hanley.

the number 01782 859100 was their geographical number up to approx 18 months ago when they swapped to their 0845 number. if anyone calls the 859100 number now, a pre recorded message tells them that they have to call the 0845 no.
