On the EHEC website (this is the replacement for the E111) you are directed to phone an 0871 number for further information, and all that happens is that a recorded voice directs you to a 0906 number (£1.05 per min)!! Any advice, anyone? Thanks

under correct name ehic they would find alternative number 0191 203 5555.

If you Google "EHIC" then it's unfortunate that many of the results are scams. I looked a few days ago and the first result was a scam. At present one of the sposored links is a scam.

I hope tha Google is trying to clean up this one but in a large automated system this isn't easy.

The EHIC card is 100% free. Apply online and it arrives within a week.
