Title: chooseandbook non geog number? Post by crazykidd on Oct 20th, 2012 at 10:27am
Hello everyone,
I have Virgin phone package that covers geog numbers; I do therefore resent hving to pay for non-geog for no reason. I have needing to book an appointment at the Birmingham Queen Elizabeth, but have been given, and can only find the 0345 60 88 88 8 number which of course has replaced the old '08' numbers. However, it is still chargeable at the local rate. Does anyone know an ordinary landline Geog number I can use to choose and book in Birmingham? Thank you. >:( |

All 03 numbers are charged at no more than geographic rate, or form part of inclusive calls where 01 and 02 ones are! See Ofcom - What are 03 numbers? I understand that Virgin Media is in compliance with this rule.
The reason for switching from 084 to 03 was to bring call charges into line with geographic ones. There is therefore no need to find an alternative to avoid being charged more than a geographic call. |

Depending on the talk plans you choose, you can natter away in the evenings, at weekends or anytime without having to pay a penny extra." http://store.virginmedia.com/phone/phone-fibre-optic/compare-fibre-optic/index.html |

Does Virgin still have a local rate in their call plans? If not then 03 numbers cannot be "charged at the local rate". 03 numbers are charged the same as 01 and 02 numbers. Where 01 and 02 numbers are included in call plans as "free" or "inclusive" calls, so are all 03 numbers. |

I wasnt aware that my phone package included 01 and 02 as well as 03. That's excellent news! :) |
