I couldn't find if this store had previously been posted about, so I am starting a new thread.

I tried the alternative listed for Tesco - Bexhill-on-Sea - Ravenside Retail Park. 0845 677 9049       01424 783400.  All I get is a recorded message advising me that the number is NOT recognised.

I have to go into the store later, to collect an order so I will ask when I go in.

Over the last few years, we have observed that Tesco branches have been changing their geographic numbers. As I explained here they are moving from BT prefixes to C&W prefixes.

For this reason, it is probably most effective to concentrate on branches by STD code. In the database there are the following Tesco entries with 01424 numbers:

Verified:

Within the 01424 prefix, C&W have the following:

473 Cable & Wireless UK (Thus) 11/2005
478 Cable & Wireless UK (Thus) 11/2005

Presumably those suffixed with "Thus" were acquired as a result of the purchase of Thus Plc. I believe that the Tesco number prefixes we've found were not Thus numbers, so I suggest that the local numbers we are looking for begin with 48 or 79.

When I last looked at Tesco, six months or more ago, the geographic numbers ending 00 had the store IVR on and some gave directions which allows them to be paired with the respective 0845 number. In other cases it may be necessary to select the option to be put through to the store and ask which it is.

So, I suggest that the main numbers for Tesco branches in the Hastings and Bexhill area are 01424 48??00 and/or 01424 79??00.

Sadly I went in, got what I needed and left as I was in somewhat of a hurry.  However I am a regular visitor to the store, so I WILL ask soon. Apologies :-?
