Does anyone have geographic number for Sony UK  I am having trouble connecting my Sony handycam to USB port on PC and will probably have a long call to Sony unless someone has any ideas  thanks :(

The Geographical number listed for Sony UK Ltd., (08705 111 999), is 01635 872777.  When dialed the recorded voice says the number is not recognised.
The alternative number 01635 869500 is either constantly engaged or the recorded voice advises that "This number is temporaraly not available".
Can anyone provide an alternative please?

Apart from posting in the wrong forum, your message contains no information as detailed in the guide for finding geographic numbers. Also, it is quite rude to come and demand the landline number - it would have been better to ask if anybody knew it.

Hi the number they gave me to call is 08705111999 for technical help on a HD webcam i tried the number on our site but is says "no longer in use" Cheers Barry

I have removed the 0800 1695263 number. Last year I found some Sony helplines on 01656 867xxx numbers. Some of these have been added, and I think others exist.

Search the database for sony for some of these numbers.

Please let us know how you get on and what numbers work and don't work.

I used the following number for "Sony UK Head Office switchboard":

01932 816000 and asked for Customer Support.

The call was successful and cost me 5p per minute from my mobile.

Sony's general enquiries number is now 0845 600 0124 and it is answered with a menu for various types of electronic devices.

The 0870 511 1999 number is still answered with the same menu, so if your provider charges no more for 0870 calls, you might be better off calling this instead of the 0845 number.

The number for the Republic of Ireland is +353 1 413 1771 and answers with the same menu. Use a dial-through provider such as 18185 to reduce the cost of calling this number instead of routing via your main landline or mobile provider where such calls are usually very expensive.

Thanks Bowman for this, I had been on the verge of phoning Sony's 090 Premium rate number  :( re my out of warranty Vaio Laptop then I checked on here and found your post.  :) I got straight through to the switchboard operator and asked for Customer Support. I was asked, "For which product" and the lady then put me straight through and within 5 seconds I was talking to a human being in their Vaio Dept from whom I was able to order the new part that was required.  ;D 01932 816000 is the number to call.

Alternatives to Sony's main menu (0870 511 1999 and 0845 600 0124) are 020 7365 2947, 01923 476425 and +353 1 413 1771. These all have options for various Sony products.  ;)

The 020 number listed for Sony UK support is actually an IVR menu, when I selected support for Sony Products I was told to call 0844 8466 5555, I called the head office number and was put through to Sony Support.

I assume that the number alluded to is 020 7365 2947. This does indeed answer with a IVR with the following options:

1. Buy a product
2. Discuss existing order
3. Help with a Sony product

This is the exact same IVR as is on 0845 600 0124.

According to the note in this entry, it was previously the case that the same IVR was also on 0870 511 1999, 01923 476425 and +353 1 413 1771.

The 01923 number is now not recognised and the 0870 and Irish number now go through to the "Sony Customer Information Centre" with the following options:

1. Television, DVD and Bluray
2. Viao computers
3. Cameras and camcorders
4. Other products

Interestingly, on the 0870 number there is a short burst of foreign ringing, which suggests that it is answered outside the UK and Ireland, although it is voiced by a British-sounding female.

I called the head office number listed when typing in Sony in the search engine. After some persuasion the lady put me through.

Indeed the number rings with a non UK sounding tone, before being answered but either an American/Indian sounding agent, who was actually very helpful.

I just prefered it when Sony UK had one number 08705 111 999 which was changed after the BIG Number change from 0990 111 999.

I intend to have words with Sony Customer support but only via their online forum/feedback.

Thanks. This number is the Sony Customer Information Centre and is identical to 0870 511 1999 and +353 1 413 1771. Depending on your tariff, the 0870 number might be cheaper, or if you're registered with a provider like 18185 the Dublin number might be worthwhile.

Perhaps we can work out where this number is answered and hence find an alternative, although it may well be a non-UK geographic number.

Is no one else wishing to do the work finding numbers and happy to leave it to others? Doing simple things like looking in the database, through the numbers already there to see if there are any suitable? :-? ::)

I did a search of the database for Sony and saw the entry with "SONY CUSTOMER SERVICES 03304402060". I dialled this number and found it to be answered as the "Sony Customer Information Centre" (preceeded with a brief burst of foreign ringing), just as 0870 511 1999, 0844 846 6555 and +353 1 413 1771.
