Anyone got the number?

To avoid the 30+ minute wait in the 0870 queue, call 01793 715 715 during office hours and ask them to put you through - you'll still have to wait, but at least you can wait for 1p/min instead of 7p!

Hi there!

Have you looked in the database?  If none of the numbers are of any use, could you please advise what it is for?

Thank you.

James Bond

Please do not use capitals, it is deemed as shouting and considered as bad form

Sorry about the caps ,I'm trying to contact medion tech support but they are trying to get you to use a 0871 number

As Jamesbond says in his post, have you tried any of the other numbers on the database?

For example, try the customer services number and ask if you can be put through.

You can e-mail them, or their FAX number is on their web page, maybe try ringing a few numbers around it.... if they have support based on site, I am sure you can "find" the number the 0871 number diverts to..

:)

I have replaced the technical support number with 715727.

Note customers in Ireland get a freephone number for support, and those in the UK get a premium rate one.

hi ...just to add that number 01793 715698 is no longer in use for Medion..dial it and you are informed of this automatically. The company is keen that customers now dial the 0871 number - 0871 376 1020....surprise, surprise !

the other day tried to call tech support on the 01793 715715 number I got through to what I assume is a standard customer service staff member, not a tech support staff member, she said she could not put me through to tech support as it is a seperate line with no connection from her telephone, she insisted I call the 0871 number, I tried several times over several days and kept being told the same thing by whoever anwered the 715 715 number, so looks like they,re now not wanting to divert calls from that number. Just thought I,d mention it for users of this site. Previously staff on the 715 715 number did put me through to tech support earlier this year, not now.

I just wanted to let you all know that the 01793 715727 and 01793 715 694 numbers are no longer putting through to tech help, as of this week, tried several times it,s now a no no, staff said their phone systems been changed and they can no longer put you through to tech help, as it,s now a seperate line, the 0871 number at 7 pence a minute. So any ideas re : alternative number now ?

Lifted this from their website:
About Us
Contact
MEDION Electronics Ltd.
120 Faraday Park
Faraday Road
Dorcan
SWINDON
Wiltshire, SN3 5JF
United Kingdom

Hotline:
(UK Customers) 0871 3761020 (calls are charged at 7p per minute from BT landline)
(ROI Customers) 1 800 992 508 (freephone)

Webshop:
(UK Customers) 0800 279 4145 (freephone)
(ROI Customers) 1 800 848 550 (freephone)

Fax: +44 (0)1793 715716

Internet: www.medion.co.uk

Would the hotline freephone for Irish customers work substituting 0 for the 1 or maybe try the freephone to the Webshop & get transferred?

We have yet to establish where technical support calls are answered. I can think of a number of possibilities:

1. They are answered at the Swindon office, in which case the staff can probably put calls through and the 01793 715xxx numbers may yield the answer.

2. They are answered at another UK office of Medion (if there is one) or at an outsourced provider elsewhere. In which case, we could do to find out the name (if it's an outsourced provider) and address.

3. They are answered at another of Medion's offices, perhaps in Germany (where the head office is based), so as to keep all support together.

MEDION AG
Am Zehnthof 77

Germany

Phone: +49 201 8383 0

From the verified entries, we know that 01793 715715 is the reception. I have changed the description of 715727 to "Customer services", with a note to say that it's not technical support.

715700 is the voicemailbox for Nick Shenton, Managing Director. Not sure if it's ever picked up or if it ever goes through to a member of staff rather than a machine.

If calls are answered abroad, then that may be the reason that quite a few 7156xx numbers have foreign ringing on them.

715629 says "Thank you for calling the Medion" (synthesised voice) and then says to select the appropriate option, but then goes to foreign ringing.
715630 also starts off "Thank you for calling the Medion" (synthesised voice), but requests a customer number followed by pound sign.
715673 goes straight to music.

The Medion Shop number, 0800 279 4145, is answered with foreign ringing when it's open. It has a UK alternative: 715634. The closed message on this line is the same synthesised female voice as with 629 and 630.

It's an Irish 1800 number, so it is only dialable from within Ireland.

1800 in Ireland is a prefix, just like 18185 or 118866 in the UK. Thus, an Irish 1800 number cannot be dialled from abroad.

Further to my earlier posting, I called the 0871 376 1020 number and selected the option for support (there is another option for Aldi Photo Service). It went through to the same synthesisied voice message as is on 01793 715630, so I assume it to be a suitable alternative and have listed it as such in the database.

Please let me know how you get on by posting feedback on this thread.

I,ve just earlier rang 01793 715 700 and a female answer phone voice said it,s Nick Shenton,s number, leave message, so doubt this will get to tech help !

I might have found the tech hotline number, just rang a few of the listed numbers from dave,s earlier post, and 01793 715 630 said on an answer message ( outside of office hours ) " please call back during hotline opening hours " .....I,ll call tomorrow, then post what the situation is, hopefully the tech hotline,s landline number, looks like Medion have realised we,re calling the hotline from a landline number ( don,t know how ? ) and are trying to be more covert like alot of these companies ....if this is the number it,s still answered from the 01793 area code, so unclear if staff are being told not to divert calls from the other 2 numbers now, because of them not wanting customers to by pass the 0871 number ? See what happens tomorrow.

The 01793 715 630 number is the number now to ring for the Medion tech helpline, I,ve just rung it and got through to tech help with no other staff to by pass / talk to before you get through. I rang the number yesterday and got an automated voice recording, which makes it clear to continue waiting and if you wait without doing anything you do eventually get a tech support staff member immediately on the other end of the telephone, to help you, with no questions to answer about what number you rang etc....to speak to him / her. There are no numbers to press or complicated requests to be put through by another dept etc....just straight through after waiting to get through, and your tech issues can be dealt with. Hope this helps everyone needing this service. Don,t say what number you dialled to get through, we don,t want Medion changing this number to block calls, they assume you dialed the 7 pence a minute number, lets keep it that way.
