Robin,

They are part of the same company as:

www.telediscount.co.uk
www.telestunt.co.uk
www.budgetcom.co.uk

Thanks
Daniel

Hi Daniel,  Thanks for the 3 additional websites, as you said, same company. However, what I was really querying was what other members' opinions were of the methods they use to provide cheap overseas calls via a non-geo no. E.g. how long does it take between dialling  the "access no" & receiving the voice prompt to proceed with your call?

I've no experience of them (I use 18866) but, as your question can be answered for 1p - by dialling the access number for calls to Spain (08448 615 615) - why not find out for yourself?

Hi heinz,  Isn't an 0844- no. a Non-Geo. & charged at approx. 4p/min?

1p/minute on OneTel (copy and paste the below, I can't get it to 'stick' as a full link).

http://www.onetel.co.uk/index.php/callrates/view,nongeo/show,8448

The BT site is so convoluted it's impossible to find thereon what they charge for such calls (one of the many reasons why I make no calls via BT any more).

BT's rates can be found at:

http://www.bt.com/Pricing/pis_info.jsp?PRICE_OPTION=Residential/PIS_Specialised_Numbers/innertext/&showsub=PIS_Residential&showsub2=PIS_Specialised_Numbers&c_index=08

Thanks
Daniel

Thanks Daniel.  I think the length of that link rather proves my point about BT's convoluted website.  However, that's a link I've now saved for future use.

1p/minute for 08446 calls on BT as well then.

The trouble with this company(with all it's different systems) is that it would appear that they are overloaded. Apart from doubling the price of some calls, you can dial and it tells you there is no reply - this costs 5p for the connection with most of them. There is of course someone at the place you are calling - or an answerphone. This has happened to several people I know and myself.

I know 18866/18899 have a different system but I won't authorise a continuous authority on my credit card.

You can always try the Cahoot Webcard - It issues you with a unique credit card number that is only valid for one transaction.  That way no more than one payment can be taken - You would have to update your payment details regularly though,

I  have been using Telestunt to call India and USA for many months. It is hassle-free to set up, takes 40-50 seconds to connect to India and 10-15 sec to USA. It fails to connect to India about 5-10% of attempts(most likely to be problem in the far end). Highly recommended :D, though I may try Telesavers now as cheaper. Shall keep you posted.
Thanks to you all, this is my first post.

Follow-up to my last (actually the first) post.
Unable to connect to telesavers (India and USA), massage saying 'capacity overloaded', so back to Telestunt which works fine.
Hpope this helps.

Just compare in one clear overview all Simply Dial Providers (SDP).

That site compares ONLY SEVEN providers.

A quick check on the cost of calls to Spain shows their cheapest recommendation is 3p/minute.   That's 3 times more than I pay (via 1899) and 3 times more than is available from at least 3 other providers which telecompare.co.uk don't mention.

Similarly, their cheapest recommendations for calls to USA are 3p or 4p/minute.   That's 6 or 8 times more than I pay (via 1899) and 3 or 4 times more than is available from at least 3 other providers which telecompare.co.uk don't mention.

Try niftylist instead - that shows ELEVEN providers.
