I just tried dialling a hotel in Australia using 18866, I was rather surprised to get a message in English and German, following the 2 p per minute message, saying this number is not supported by NCI please use your local carrier. Can anyone explain this. Has anyone had a similar experience? I tried seceral times and always the same thing.I tried with onetel and couldn't finish dialling the number at all.

Could you use 08448611212, 08448615615 or 08447202020 instead? Then it only costs 1p per minute!

Perhaps the hotel has the Oz equivalent of 0870 and can't be accessed from abroad via cheaper carriers?
