Title: 0800/0500
Post by Jimbo_Bimbo on Feb 14th, 2005 at 7:33pm
[glb]Does anybody know of a decent website that has an alternative to 0800 or 0500 numbers?[/glb]

Since these numbers are free from land-lines I cannot understand how my mobile company can justify charging me 10p to dial them as this is more than the so-called, local and national non-geographic numbers. ;D

This website lists such numbers. This is yet another rip-off, whereby the caller pays normal rates (or more) and the receipient pays to make that call free in the first place!! ???

If you ask the company you are calling for an alternative, I'm sure they'll be more than pleased to supply you with an alternative.

If your mobile contract includes cross-network minutes -

http://www.pre-dial.com/

You can find call-through access numbers on Orange and O2 that enable you to ring 0800 and 0845 numbers (and about 40 int'l destinations)

One of them has a points saving scheme that presumably could enable 0870 access
