I've done an FOI on Warbreck house, Blackpool that deal with enquiries regarding DLA (Disability Living Allowance) / AA (Attendance Allowance).

I'll shall reply here with their response.  I hope they don't do the delay tactic and excemptions that Highways Agency & BBC have used!

I had to send it via snail-mail. I believe this is because they were hoping I'd forget it due to the slightly extra work/time involved in writing and sending it as snail-mail as opposed to a quick email.

Hence to say they were wrong!  lol.

I wish you luck there, I know DLA are rather difficult to deal with.

Just received a reply from the DWP with regards to the Disability Living Allowance (DLA) / Attendance Allowance (AA) geographical helpline number for the main office in Blackpool.  The reply was in snail-mail format so I've only wrote the important/relevant paragraphs.

I spoke of this site with my support worker while I was sitting in the queue to talk to DLA, but the call promptly was ended after the hitting 20 minute mark.

Fingers crossed folks, I should have a copy of the geographic number if my support worker can find it in files. Even if its for "internal" folks, its better leaked than kept to themselves. :-X

I now have a copy of the direct DLA line - and confirmed it just now.

Shall add it promptly.

One thing that gets me is, this direct number doesnt put you on a queue, and there is practically nil time to wait for an answer.. Makes one wonder?

Unfortunately the 01253 598900 number no longer works. Nor do any of the other numbers for DLA/AA listed in the database such as 01253 331392.

Has anyone obtained a more up to date number that works ?

The first alternative given when searching by 0845 number is:

0845 712 3456 = 01367 730222

This is a verified entry. Does this work? Perhaps best to withhold your number using 141.
