Title: ITV Package Holidays Undercover
Post by mc661 on Jul 19th, 2005 at 8:11pm
interesting how they place the numbers on the screen

"08712 00 00 42" People would think different if it was placed as 0871 2 00 00 42

With absolutly no way of telling us the caller the cost to call it.

Obviously they're trying to confuse them !! :-/

I agree with the thought though - it sort of takes your mind off the prefix doesn't it. You're too worried about trying to remember all the odd numbers & not miss any !!  ::)

Obviously intended to make you think you are dialling a geographic code (i.e. 01872/01291 etc).  I have raised this issue with Ofcom but they said the number can be split and advertised how the holder of the number wishes-I said it appears to be done to confuse the caller, the reply I received seemed to imply "so what".  I got the feeling they felt it was not their problem.

All the more reason why the cost of the call should be displayed against it.Ofcom wash there hands of it because misleadig advertising is something that the ASA would deal with.

Forgive my earlier gash Dave as you have done!

Now, the programme has the the following message as least as large and on the second line:

Calls cost 10 pence a minute at all times

This is fair I think?
