Homecall Broadband Offer - http://www.homecall.co.uk/ukdeals/

What number do they give to ring?  Not an 0870 number, but 0871 230 3517.

Previously, if I'm not mistaken, Homecall have used 0870, but now the great exodus is beginning...

I note that the 10p a minute 0871 range is now being termed UK NATIONAL EURO RATE.

Have OFCOM been involved in this labelling exercise, I wonder...?

I did not suggest they were a Household Name like BT,and C&W did i.They are though a major supplier, and are often recommended by folks around the net cos of their cheaper prices.

Perhaps you should consider posting some constructive comments about NGN,rather then making unhelpful silly postings ;)

Regardless of the size of the company, I found this post interesting and useful - so thanks bigjohn.  And as Sonny points out this could be the beginning of a new trend away from 0870 and towards 0871.  Whether its back into the frying pan or not, do you think this could signal a victory of sorts ?
In any case, isn't it proposed that 0871 could come under '09' type regulation - in which case at least we're talking a smaller frying pan ?  [smiley=beer.gif] :-?

PS And before anyone else says it, I too would prefer revenue sharing to end on 0871s so that companies who want to raise money through phones calls use the 09 range of premium numbers instead.  Even though placing restrictions on the use of 0871 sounds good, blurring the lines of premium rate/087x only adds to the NTS confusion in my opinion.
