Not sure if there's a special place to put discontinued numbers.

However, the Tax Credit office number 01274 894001 listed in the database for use instead of 0845 300 3900 now goes straight through to a recorded announcement asking you to use an 0845 number.

I know there's a link to add new numbers but (if there isn't already one that I haven't spotted) it would be useful to have a link to report numbers that are no longer working or only take you to a recorded announcement.

I've just tried 01274 894 003 (a nearby number) and the help desk was closed.

If you still need to ring them could you try the number above and let us know if it works.

In the interim, I've moved the entry back to the unverified database and changed the geographical number to above.  Once confirmed as correct, I'll move it back to verified database again.

I have had this problem before, sometimes it works and some times it doesnt, I called the 0191 number and it didnt work one sunday but on the monday it did, obviously it doesnot work when the specific call centre is not open but others are....
