Title: Another way to fight back

http://www.uknumber.co.uk

This site will give you free of charge on request:

1.        An 0870 number which will route through to a landline, all week
Cost to caller:  1.5p per min weekend/ 4p per min evening / 8p per min daytime
Our UK 0870 telephone numbers may be used any day of the week and will route through to landlines only.

2.      An 070 number which will route to a landline or mobile, all week
Cost to caller:  26p per minute any time, any day
Our UK 'personal rate' 070 telephone numbers can be used at any time. This number is charged at 26p per minute from landlines and most mobile networks charge the same as a mobile to other mobile network call.

Now, you personally dont get the money, the number provider does, but it has two useful features which amount to fighting fire with fire: its hides your real number, it costs them more to phone you, and most companies are too stupid to realise the cost of the 070 number, most of them thin kits a mobile number. I have started giving my 0703 number out to all companies that make me phonean 0845 or 0870.

Revenge is sweet...............

What you have to do is copy the scammers! You have to register the 070 number in the name of one of your friends and register yourself as an intermediary entitled to collect the revenue! Then you can collect the revenue.

The only winner here is the telco.

You are paying well over market rate to place a call.

Anybody can place a UK call for a penny pm off peak, and little more than tha using a prefix peak.

International calls are not much more.

Calls to mobiles are expensive, but this isn't caused by the telco, but by the mobile provider,

and calls from a mobile to 07 numbers are not the same as calls from a landline.

of course, you can as suggested set up an account for 070's negotaite a rebate and point the number wherever you want. You will stillhave to pay for the call though as someone always does!
