Title: Virgin Radio - New 03 Number!
Post by Minardi on Jan 2nd, 2008 at 11:19am
Heard it on the radio this morning. Virgin's new on air numbr is 0330 123 1215. Its working from my 3 mobile. Probably worth editing this in the database.

Temped to email Virgin and tell them I like the change, and ask what prompted it, when so many other companies won't do it!

I don't listen to Virgin Radio, but I would applaud them on their moving to an 0330 number. It will finally give some credibility to the use of the number by bodies other than the government.

Webmaster:

It may be worth putting the 03 number in the 0844/0845 column instead of the Geo column, as it would appear that charges are incurred for these calls.  It will convuse me otherwise if looking in a particular column as I do often, to find an 01/02 number for an entry.

The second column I would sugggest head as "03/0844/0845" and leave the third column as 01/02.  Just to avoid any confusion.  Thanks.

Have you been charged when you wouldn't be charged for 01/02 calls?

Will know for certain probably tomorrow (Saturday).  I have only just tried it, so my unbilled list will not yet be updated.  I shall let you know.  Thanks.

Good news is that TalkTalk OneTel, not to be confused with TalkTalk, as the tarrifs are slightly different or were, appear not to be charging for 03 numbers - at least after 1800.  However, it would appear tht some are, which is why I suggested you moved the numbers to the second number column.

Cheers.

Some packages do charge for 03 numbers, but the charge should be no higher than for calls to 01/02 numbers. If someone is on an inclusive call package and they are charged for 03 calls, then contact the telephone provider's customer services. If nothing is done, then refer it to Ofcom.

Telephone companies are legally obliged to comply and charge 03 at no higher than 01/02 rate (being inclusive where applicable).
