The "Utility Company" Glide, as in www.glide.uk.com, have (fairly) recently changed their number.  Both the freephone number and the associated 01 number (as listed in the directory on this site) reach a "this number has changed" recording.

The new number is 08448 111 555

Can anyone elaborate as to whether this is, as I suspect, a "premium rate" number?  Is there an easy way to determine the associated landline number?

I presume you mean this 01 number - 0121 2850 300? Perhaps you could try some other numbers close to that - 301, 302, 303 for example?

I think that I am right in saying, from a standard BT landline, calling an 0844 number will cost you 4.25p per minute at all times. Other phone operators will vary.

Yes that one, and - 301, - 302 all have recorded messages saying that the number has changed to various 08448 numbers. -303 is not recognised, although their full range of numbers may not be contiguous.

I may just have to be cheeky and find a way to get them to tell me...

You could email them and tell them you don't want to ring their 0844 number; ask them to call you back or give you an 01 alternative. If they call you back, you might get their 01 number.

Calls cost 4.255 pence per minute at all times exclusive of VAT from a BT landline.

0121 2850xxx:

300 redirects to 0844 8111555 (same as 0800 6348631)
301 redirects to 0844 8805801
302 redirects to 0844 8805802
304 redirects to 0844 8805804

These redirection messages are recordings.
303 and 305 through to 309 answer with an American Female voice "The number you have dialled is not in service. ..."

310 Glide Menu | 1:Sales | 2:Support | 3:Billing enquiries | Hold for other enquiries (as per 0844 8111555)


What are the 0844 8805801 /2 /4 numbers for? Are there others which are similar? Maybe they map to 311 /312 /314 respectively.

Please let us know so we can add them to the database. I have amended the main entry with 310.

Hi, thanks for that. I've updated the entry in the database as this number has identical options to 0844 811 1555.

The 0121 285 0310 number no longer matches as it doesn't have the IVR on.

How did you come by this 0333 number? I see that they still have to 0844 number on the website.  :-?
