Abbey have recently changed name to Santander Bank.

The following numbers do not work because they either give an unobtainable tone or answer and refer you to one of their 0845 numbers. :( :(

0800 5872758
0800 0683562
0800 174635
01244 673300
01908 237963

However, 0800 7317774 does work!!! :) :)

Note that Santander seem to have taken over control of their cards which were managed by MBNA, and so none of the numbers listed under Abbey but which refer to MBNA are now useful. MBNA answer by telling callers that they no longer deal with Abbey (Santander) cards.

another number that works for paying bills and moving money around:

0800 056 5151

This is in addition to 0800 7317774 which also works

Santander this morning told me that 01908 238013 is for overseas customers only and that I must use 0845 600 4388.
I wonder how many Santander employees are occupied in blocking alternative numbers.?

The thing is that if customers didn't call the so-called "overseas" numbers in their droves, then there wouldn't be any need to go to these extremes to force UK callers to ring the premium numbers.
