Hi everyone,

I'm a new member who's just discovered this service and think it's fantastic.

I've recently been in contact with a company to find out technical details about some of its products and discovered that the only number it advertises is an 0844 number.

I've tried the various ways suggested to find the normal landline number but with no joy.

The company details and number are as follows :-

George House
George St
Hull
HU1 3AU
Tel: 0844 335 8832  

Any help appreciated.

The company is KitchenScience.co.uk.

I put kitchen science hull into Google and up popped the Google map with the address you've given and telephone 0800 *** ****. Unfortunately this number is not recognised.

Further down that page, we have this link which gives:

HU1 3AU
Tel: 01430 425808

However, the STD code doesn't match the location and Googling that number reveals that it is the fax number for Summit Media in nearby Brough.

The about page on Summit's website makes reference to "Comet (KitchenScience.co.uk)". And the terms and conditions page of KS says it's part of Comet Group Plc and its fax number is 01482 592316.

From the database, the head office number for Comet is 01482 320681. Search for Comet and look for 01482 592 numbers; they appear to be head office.


Please let us know how you get on, what you try, what works and what doesn't so I can list an appropriate alternative :)


It's important for users to feedback to us so we can keep the listings as accurate as possible and I ask you, now you're registered on the forum, to post on here about any updates or additions you find are necessary in the database. For example, unverifieds that can be verified (as they work), non-working numbers, numbers you find that can be added etc.

Hi,

It's possible to call the Comet Head Office number (01482 320681) and ask for Kitchen Science. The switchboard puts you through immediately.

Thanks. I've added an entry with this alternative and a note to say callers will need to ask to be put through.  :)

I just tried calling 01482 320681 and asking to be put through - they refused, and gave me the 0844 number.  Thieving so and so's...

This is Comet we are talking about. A faceless organisation that imposes service charges for speaking over the telephone.
