Hello there gwr are you questioning if it was a scam? Or letting us know?

I have to say I am not sure it's the relevant place as were not looking for an alternative.

If it had been almost a month earlier it would have been almost amousing  :)

Any calls fron 01898 numbers are likely to be being spoofed by scammers  as it is an unallocated  UK exchange code ,

0898 was used for premium rate calls ages ago
before they swiched to the 09 range,

How did we go from
01895847596 to
01897818382 to
01898 ?

The point about CLI being spoofed is the most important. It can never be relied upon to prove identity of caller.

Just to add to this, why would an ISP phone customers to tell them that?  Does anyone honestly think they have that kind of time on their hands!
