Again, I can STILL confirm this number, 0808 101 4437, is working today 20/02/2011 @ 12 noon. Still asks you to confirm your phone number, & answered within seconds!!!  Grin

Maybe Sky have at last decided to leave us with one free number Undecided

[[Same here on 29th January - a very helpful Indian call centre Lady reduced my monthly bill from £40 to £19.50 (free multi-room for the next 12 months) when I said I wanted to leave Wink

Why is it that everyone else seems to get some kind of massive long term discount when phoning to cancel a Sky subscription?? I genuinely couldn't afford to the full package price last year, so decided to cancel the movies package. When I spoke to Sky, I told them I wasn't working, & so couldn't afford it & wanted to cancel the movie channels; guess what - they cancelled them without offerring any type of deal  Sad  Angry

Can someone please tell me what the trick is???

Well I can't speak for Sky because I use Virgin but I always ask if there is anything they can do for me because I alway use either the poverty card or tell them that I will have to consider leaving for another provider if I am not satisfied

It usually works for me

To be honest, I think it all depends on who you get on the other end of the phone - and how much THEY care - here's a tip - if the person you get isn't cooperative, don't cancel there and then - phone back later or another day - and speak to the person who answers THEN - they may be much more cooperative

- I HAVE HAD THIS SITUATION MYSELF, so I know where you're coming from - just as I know my above suggestion DOES bear fruit!

Used this number a couple of minutes ago with no issues at all. I was through to the wrong department to start with but was xferred to the correct department (Cancellations).

Did not have to even haggle a lot and I was offerred 1/2 half price + Sky Sports package for free for the next 6 months - only a fool would turn such an offer down.

Needless to say, I have accepted the offer and am enjoying more the channels than what I already have at half the cost !  Wink

And how much did I pay for this call? nowt !!!

Hello and welcome to SAYNOTO0870.COM.

In the UK we have a number of geographic number services which allow us to ring freephone (0800/0808/0500) numbers. These are useful because mobile companies charge these calls at a higher rate than geographic calls.

You should be able to connect to these from abroad. Try ringing +442002220900 and when it answers, it will prompt you for the destination number. You can use the current number we list which is 0808 101 4437.  Wink

When i try to ring sky on my mobile using o800buster/the 020 pass through numbers it says Welcome to sky calls are not accepted from this number.

Gutted as i have no landline and that's what i'm trying to sort out with them.

Based on reports on MoneySavingExpert (although not echoed on here Roll Eyes), the number we had, 0808 101 4437, was disabled last night or early this morning.

I found 0800 046 6433 may have been suitable this morning, although it's now busy. The next number along appears to work so you could try that.

Just tried it and it is indeed busy and was an hour or two ago when I tried. I changed the one listed to the one after it and that answers. Have you tried that?

Or change dial the one before this number to get another Sky IVR with options for sales, broadband enquiries and agent authentication.

Yep it says access to this number is not available from the number you are dialing from, please redial on the 08442... number.

Blah!  Sad

Edit: the one listed works my fault  Wink
