I used 020 71

020 today. (I had success with it in the past).
As far as I could make out, it is only an automated service relating to billing.
Anything I could do here, I could also do on line.

To get to speak to anyone I was informed that I should call 08442 414141

No its not an automated service only. If you follow the prompts on some questions it does lead to you a live operator. EG New Customer. Wink

Out of interest who informed you of that?  A Sky employee perhaps?

I will be calling it later to check on billing but I have used it to renew and to advise I wanted to cancel.

I will report back later on how it went.

Thanks BigJohn. As a long standing customer I naturally didn't try the new customer option. In fact I'd bet that there are freephone options for new customers.

I want to speak to customer services at regular landline rates. I use 13434.ie (identical to 18185.co.uk) to regular UK landlines which costs 1 cent per minute. 0844 costs 5 cents per minute.

Should I explore the menus further on 020 71

020
or try some others?

That number was given as an automated response when delving deeper into some billing menus (after Postcode Voice Recognition).
I was stonewalled when it came to speaking to someone about my bill.

Hello eirman and welcome to SayNoTo0870.com.

Feedback is much appreciated and can be used to make the listings more accurate, which helps others. If Sky has blocked off some of the routes on the IVR (menu) on this number, but there are still avenues to get to speak to someone then it would be useful to know what these are in explicit terms (i.e. what options need to be selected or what needs to be said if it's voice-controlled). It might also be useful to know which sequence of selections are met with the redirection message to the 0844 number.

If someone would like to suggest something then I am happy to amend the listing.

Hey,

I used the number 020 71
* **
020 (as I have done several times over at least 18+ months) on the 5/11/13 without any issues.

I wanted to cancel Movies and HD to save cash - though I was hoping that they may offer me any kind of deal regarding the HD as I've had this for 3/4 yrs now & there is a difference in picture quality.

I used option 3 then 4 & was answered straight away.

They gave me an offer of keeping the HD for £5 per month for the next 12 months which I took.  Smiley

Hope this helps.

02 again without any issues. I did not come up against the 0844... blockage this time.

I did nothing different this time, so it must have a temporary issue, the last time.

Noting how this thread has now gone quiet for three months and how several working geographic numbers for Sky currently seem to be available does this suggest Sky has finally begun to accept that it can't actually blackmail everyone in the world in to becoming a Sky Talk customer through its use of 084 numbers that are charged to customers of all other phone companies as an out of bundle covert premium rate. Undecided

Just tried the 020 71
* **
02 number and it's not working. A few time it did ring only to go to an automated voice saying the service was no longer available.

If you dial the final 0, you'll find it's working fine.

Good Morning,

I have just tried the number from my mobile, and it answers with a message requesting you to enter your home phone number to get you through to the right person.. so appears to work fine.  Smiley
