Smiley Hi folks I've just spoke to sky using the 01506677005 as listed as a alternative to the 0870 number and it was still working ok at 10:35 this morning. Hope this is of some use to you folks out there. Don't forget be assertive when speaking to sky, you're paying the phone bill.

*edit*

got through in about 2 rings, spoke to the woman mainly about returning to sky in april when my virgin deal was up and she was very helpful.

so it definately works .. if they shut that one off, might be just worth trying 01506 67700

I tried this number today at 6.10pm and got the message:This number is no longer in use,but the good news is that the following numbers still work:
01506 677007
01506 677008
01506 677009
What will we do when the numbers reach 10?  Cry

Hi. Firstly, great website - many thanks for an excellent service.
Secondly, just tried 01506 677000, 001, 002, 003, 004, 005 and got the Scottish lady 'this service is no longer available'. The 0207 number gives a BT style 'the number you are calling is busy - to use ringback...' etc etc, which suggests that it works! Trouble is it's Friday evening and it's always a bad time, so first I'll try 677006/7/8/9 and perhaps beyond and then I'll plug the terrestrial aerial in ready for the rugby.
C'mon Wales!

None of those numbers work now, (including 01506 677010), just the message; - "I am sorry, you are calling a number that is no longer in use, please redial SKY on 0844......."

I concur with Derrick's recent findings.

I tried to contact Sky today (Saturday 7th February 2009) at 4pm with a tech support query about whether their new Auto-Standby feature is managing to make my oldish model Panasonic TU-DSB20 Digibox permanently lock up and not respond to remote input after it is left without a channel change for a while (even though Auto-Standby has been turned off in the Services menu) and found every single Verified and Unverified number listed by www.saynoto0870.com no longer operational.

All the 01506 numbers are now met with messages from male or female scottish announcers saying the number is longer in service and to call an 0844 or 0870 alternative, whilst the London 020 7979 9500 number that used to work 24/7 is currently permanently engaged.  There may be a limited number of tie lines on this 020 number so it remains to be seen if it will still work at at quieter times of day like midnight or 1am.

Either way it seems that Sky have deliberately closed down all numbers that allowed people to avoid calling its 0844 rip off numbers.   Presumably this is all part of a dastardly plan by Sky to force us to switch our phone service to them (Sky Talk) as the only way to avoid having to pay to call their 0844 numbers. Shocked Angry Smiley Smiley Smiley

If you are not a Sky Talk customer the only way to now get in touch with Sky without using their ripoff 0844 premium rate numbers seems to be set yourself up an online account at www.sky.com and then whilst logged in use their hard to find option to send an email query about Sky tv account issues.  This includes a number to be called back on and they do eventually call back but it can be two to three days later and usually from someone at the call centre in India.

You can find the link to ask for a call back when logged in to your online Sky account at:-

Why do sky keep rotating their geographical numbers ? its probably the same reason that you can upgrade using the website or interactive button, but you have to call 0845/0870 to downgrade. Skimming even more cash from paying customers.

I wanted to upgrade to movies and sports but had a question before i did so, but i refuse to do so until i can call on a geographical number.

Sky, if you're listening, You are losing business because you are SLY and SNIDE  Angry

OK so determined not to be defeated I called a load of 01506 numbers in some number ranges previously suggested by Dave and found that you can still get straight through to Sky customer services on 01506 831741.  There is a call queue with music before you get through to an adviser but there is no menu system with numbers to choose from etc.  The wait time on hold at 5pm today was only about two minutes.  They were able to transfer me to their technical department but the call was initially answered by the customer services department.

Of course I expect this number will be closed down when Sky's head of anti customer activities (aka Mark Anderson) returns to the office on Monday.
