I've listed another 01506 number in the database which asks for a telephone number.

I have just used this new geographic phone number for Sky including entering my home phone number (I wasn't asked for my postcode or date of birth which the 0800 number asked me for) and got straight through to a call centre adviser in Scotland in customer services. Smiley

i've just tried 0800 0468850 and 01506 421717 at 12:32pm on 20th and neither work.

The 0800 number has a recorded message telling me it's now closed, and the 01506 number has another message saying it's no longer in use.

However ..

0800 0468851 gets you a menu - tried a couple of options and spoke to some people pretending i'd been transferred incorrectly from customer services and could they transfer me back but none of them either wanted to or could.

The 01506 421717 number has a message that is slightly different to that "no longer available" we have been used to. "I'm sorrry, you're calling a number that is no longer in use. Please redial Sky on 0844 …"

Anyway, I've updated the listings with a new number that asks for your telephone number.

How about 0800 046 8847?  Undecided

Looks like we only have 01506 number at the moment then. I've removed the 0800 number from the database.

Just tried all the numbers on the database to speak to Sky, but none work. They all  say number no longer in use and give the 0844 number, with the exception of the 01506 number when you do actually get to speak to a human being. I spun her the tale about being put through to the wrong department but she said she couldn't transfer me. I even threatened to cancel Sky altogether and asked her to put me through to the cancellation team but she wasn't having any of that either. I then filled in the 'contact us' form on their website, when they supposedly ring you (eventually). There is a box to fill in your viewing card number and then you click on 'submit'. It then came back with all the information erased and told me in red that my viewing card number is invalid. How on earth can it be invalid when it's in my sky box and working? They really are totally useless but unfortunately none of the other service providers give as good a package, but they know that which is why they can afford to be totally useless.

I've listed a different 01506 number for Sky in the database. Try it and let us know how you get on.

That number is apparently for Sky Business customers only and they weren't very helpful to start with but when I told him I'd been "pushed from pillar to post" and was extremely frustrated, he transferred me to billing. So yes it does work, but you have to be persuasive.

The number is no longer working, I tried them all on the list

Its horrendous because they are dreadful at sorting out issues with anything and constantly get it wrong and you have to phone back again and they still get it wrong. It would not be as bad if they didnt have such massive waiting times and were efficient when you do call but they are not.

My daughter has a problem that they are overcharging her every month, I've rang on her behalf about this before it took 6 calls, long ones being passed from one dept to another each time they said it was fixed but it wasnt. We have to call back again now and pay for that again and when you are waiting and paying for it for something that is not your fault you are paying for thier mistakes which is completely wrong and they should not be able to get away with this

When you want to cancel with them too the wait times for that is so bad I have had to wait 1 hour 15 minutes before to cancel my subscription. My daughter has no choice she is in a non cabled area so can't have virgin media but I personally would never go back to them again because if you have a problem this is what happens and waiting 1 hour 15 minutes to cancel is just going to finally seal the deal that you will never want to go back. I left in 2004 and have not gone back

If anyone has any phone numbers to ring please let us know, Thankyou

I just phoned the 01506 421898, the one I was told the other day was for business customers only. There is  now a message saying it's no longer in use and the line then goes dead without even giving the 0844 number. Unfortunately I do have to speak to them again so will have to phone the 0844 number. Ahhhgg !!

Sorry to have to report that 01506 421898 (the geographical alternative in the database for the Freesat from Sky 0844 241 0595 number) is also answering, "This number is no longer available" and hanging up.  I tried 01506 421897 just on the offchance but got the same recorded announcement.
