But surely if you leave the site and then return later, unless you hold the window with the site open for the duration, this is inevitable with any logged in site?

In the last upgrade to the forum software, a new feature called 'Session Verification' was introduced.

This is basically a security protection which matches a user's username to the IP address they are using when they login.

If your ISP allocates you a dynamic IP address (a different one each time you access the internet), the forum software will ask you to login again.

There is a fix being made to resolve this, but I am currently looking at replacing the current forum software anyway, so hopefully this will not be an issue (either way) for much longer.
