Wrong price indication/0845! - Empire Stores

Some people just cannot get it right!

Just received in an email from Empire Stores:-

CALL ORDERLINE on 08457 200 400
Calls from BT landlines charged at 5p per minute

As far as I know the maximum charge for 0845 from a BT line is 3p per minute, so whilst they are shooting themselves in the foot, I suppose it is better than not quoting a call price.

These are not the only company to quote similar charges.

edited to change to "Empire Stores"

Sorry Derrick but that number is for the Empire Stores Orderline and not that for Empire Direct. It might be the same group of companies, but it's different websites and different numbers. I won't dispute that you can very probably order on either number for other group members, same as you can with other catalog groups.

I agree with your comments though ! Roll Eyes

Empire Stores is owned by a french company called Redcats (www.redcats.com) and has bases in Bradford and Wakefield. Empire Direct is privately owned.

I agree it's not part of the same group. There was DUFF info in our database led me to believe that they were though I never actually stated that above. It was just Derrick that had mixed them up. Thanks for pointing it out though as I have now amended the database to correct the errors.

Funnily enough Empire (Direct) do have a store in Bradford (01274 575000), which someone mistakedly gave us as some numbers for Empire Direct Online Customer support 0870 9016080 (Deliveries, Faults & Services), which of course they were not !
