Anyone know an alternative number for the RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals)? Their 0870 number is; - 0870 55 55 999.

Many thanks.

RSPCA Headquaters is local to me, and I've looked in the local 'phone book.

For the HQ address in Wilberforce Way, Southwater, it gives 0870 010 1181.
This is the address given by Bigjohn (and I therefore assume equates to the geo number from bigjohn), but it is not the number given by Pauline.

The number given by Pauline appears from the phone book to for "24-hour Cruelty & advice".

Their website has yet another 0870 number - and helpfully!  Cry - suggests the same number for international calls:
Quote:
Telephone: 0870 33 35 999 (or +44 870 33 35 999 for calls from outside the UK).

Clearly, the only option is to try the HQ geo number!

Sadly, geo-nmber 01403 821000 does not work.  Tried dialling with 1899 in front ( a carrier I use for cheap calls) and then tried without.  Got single monotone which means number unobtainable.  *sigh* Angry

Just tried it localy (twice), dialling 821000.  It rang momentarily (half a ring tone) and then went into a recorded message "The other person has hung up".   Cry

You could find Your Local RSPCA Branch  at the Charities Commision,
by typing RSPCA   & your Town / location name into :-
http://www.charity-commission.gov.uk/registeredcharities/search.asp?position=1&o...

They seem to have mostly Geographic numbers.

Eg.
Searching RSPCA    Horsham  comes up with:-

NORTH SUSSEX, CRAWLEY, HORSHAM AND DISTRICT BRANCH (RSPCA)

RSPCA
2 SUSANS CLOSE
EAST HOATHLY
LEWES
EAST SUSSEX
BN8 6QE

Telephone 01825 840038

RSPCA MAIN NUMBER, HORSHAM

The RSPCA, baseed in Horsham, is a worthy cause and normally I don't mind dialling their number - 0870 5555999. However, there are times when this is not practicable from my mobile - such as when I have very little credit on it in an emergency or when the post office, the only shop in the village, is shut.

Today I have very little credit on the mobile (my only means of communication), no money to top it up and am in need of calling the RSPCA. Can anyone please help?

According to their website, the RSPCA are using 0300 numbers completely now. Their main advice line is 0300 1234 555. After searching Google, it appears the 0870 number was used for the RSPCA in general, not specifically for the one in Horsham.

Anyway, please try the 0300 number and see how you get on. The number might not be accessible from your mobile phone, but it is worth a try. If it doesn't work from your mobile, you will need to contact your provider and complain to them because 0300 numbers should now be working from mobiles (or if not now, soon!) Please let us know if you manage to get through OK.

Thank you....I have been offered the use of my neighbours phone which works via his internet connection (part of a package with Orange). Whenn I dial the 0300 number I get a message saying that it doesn't exist!

Hmmm. Well, the numbers are on the RSPCA website (http://www.rspca.org.uk/servlet/Satellite?pagename=RSPCA/Utility/Contact), presumably replacing all the 0870 numbers that were there before. If you can't ring it from your mobile (or your neighbour's landline), you need to contact the provider and tell them that you need to contact the RSPCA urgently (you can lie if you want Wink) and they use an 0300 number. Point them to the RSPCA website if necessary.
