Barclays Cardholder Protection
- existing customers / policy alterations (card additions etc.)

instead of: 0870 600 3066
or: 0870 100 66 67

ring: 01904 544666

The operative asks you "are you calling from abroad?" which I was using VOIP. You just have to say "Yes" and you are there. This is actually the emergency hotline for lost cards but operators are able to make changes to policies after the usual security checks.

She had the cheek to tell me: "next time you are in the UK please call us using the 0870 number".

I checked the database but couldn't find an entry for "Barclays Cardholder Protection". Hope this helps someone.

This service is operated by Card Protection Plan (CPP). They operate services for other companies aswell. Search the database for some alternatives by entering cpp into the Company search box. Wink

AFAIK, they will take enquiries about any product when you call the geographical for a different one. For example, I have an account with CardGuard (the name they HSBC uses). When they bill you they put their telephone number on the credit card statement, which is an 0870. I looked back through my statements and found one with the number 01904 544617. Sure enough, when you ring it they answer as CardGuard customer services.

Most of the customer services and lost and stolen numbers start 01904 5446xx.
