I believe the only exclusions from that are 070, 0871 and 090 numbers. Everything else is included as part of your free minutes (but don't hold me to that!)

That is correct. If you go to the O2 website and read the terms and conditions you will find it states the following:
Quote:
UK Fixed Line Calls include calls made in the UK to standard UK Fixed-Line Numbers, voicemail menu access and retrieval, fax calls, and calls to free phone, local rate and national rate numbers (0845 and 0870). On £35 and above subscription plans voicemail menu access and retrieval is included and not decremented as part of your inclusive minutes. Inclusive minutes include UK Fixed Line Calls, WAP over GSM data calls, calls to O2 mobiles and calls to other UK mobiles (“cross network”) excluding 07744 and 07755 numbers which will be charged at 25p per minute at all times. ...

Its surprising that O2 can afford to allow these calls to be included in standard call packages though in view of how much it could cost them if many people who need to call 0870s a lot specifically start switching to them for this reason. Obviously if 084/7s are only a modest percentage of calls then its not a serious issue.

Still up to their old tricks then of surcharging vastly more than is justified.  Surely 8p per minute at most ought to cover it if 0870 is included in the bundled minutes.

I can confirm that 0870 numbers are free on 02... if you want customer services you can call 200 free from your mobile.

be careful going over your allocated minutes as 02 charge something like 20p per minute, just to put it in perspective I went over my minutes by 81 ~(ok 1 hour and 20) I was charged an extra £21.00 on top of my bill! this is alot if you think of it as 281 minutes for £51.00!!!!

also mate if you have purchased this through the carphone warehouse, never ring their expensive numbers, go on here, also I have an overseas number dial 141 before to withold your call (02088965000) if they ask say your calling from europe. Its the same as the 0870 number, without the hassle!!! also you can ring this number free from your house phone (if you have a free calls package) saving you precious minutes on your mobile!!!

Let me know if ive been of help!!!

Jai
