Blood Transfusion Service now uses 0300 Number
Apr 28th, 2009 at 11:27am

After the blood transfusion service implemented its shift to its 0845 number before the end of the so called 'consultation period' I wrote to my MP moaning about it.  It seems to have worked.  Ive now had a copy of a letter from the director of blood donation giving a new 0300 number which can apparently be used at local rates and will be included in your mobile phone allowance.

The number is:  0300 123 23 23.

Apparently they are going t obe launching this new donation number publicly "within the next couple of weeks" but he hopes it will be of use to me Smiley  And I, in turn, hope it will be of use to others Smiley

Andy.

Welcome to the forum Andy, and many congratulations. You and your MP have at least helped to get the message out.

The information you give is confirmed by other contacts with NHS Blood and Transplant, as this number is also used for the Organ Donation Register and other NHSB&T services.

We understand that a major media launch will be taking place shortly. This will provide an opportunity for public congratulations to those within NHS B&T who have been trying to get this change made for some time and to urge other NHS and public bodies to take the same step.

Dr Howard Stoate MP attended the launch of the new number:
