At least the Parliamentary and Health Ombudsman has got it right 0345 !!! It seems it hasn't got through to the Front Desk Access 0845 - Another one for the ASA.

You might have more luck with the ASA.

Why not the ICE itself?

If it can be made to understand the truth, rather than just forced to to do the "BT, but others may vary" nonsense, then this could feed back to the DWP itself.

We have a long time to wait before the new Ofcom regulations will come into effect. We need as many as possible to grasp the nettle and deal with the issue properly, for themselves, rather than walking on the edge of what is permitted and prohibited.

well yes as I was doing a complaint to ICE I mentioned the 0845 in that complaint as well.

I sent to ofcom as in earlier correspondance with me they keep claiming local rate advertising is extremely rare now.

it seems the new regulation isnt going to change much tho, as I udnerstand it ofcom are just proposing a message is added at start of calls to give the true cost.

there is going to be little to no action I see it from ofcom to force or at least motivate people to stop uusing these numbers.

eg. if I ring up someone on 0845 who has no alternative and then get told the call is about to cost me a fortune, its hardly going to stop me ringing is it.
