Category Suggestions

At the moment the telephone numbers are broken down into the following categories:

Banks
Computing
Electrical
Internet
Supermarkets
Telecom
Travel
Insurance

As the quantity of numbers is growing very fast, I am hoping to add additional categories (and possibly change categories too).

I am open to suggestions, and feel that this thread can be used for people to post their suggestions on this matter.

How about the following just for starters:-

Utility companies	. . . . .	Gas, Electric, Water suppliers & repair agents
Transportation	. . . . .	Vehicle supply, repair & hire companies
Catalogs & Clubs	. . . . .	Household supply; Clothing, Books, Music, etc.
University & College	. . . . .	Accomodation & other services
Leisure	. . . . .	Cinema, Satellite, Football, etc.
Government Agencies	. . . . .	Home Office, Police, Passport Office, Criminal records,
	. . . . .	NHS Direct, Age concern, Inland Revenue, CSA, HMCE . . .
Financial	. . . . .	Investment, Share Dealing & Companies other than banks
Superstores	. . . . .	Others not covered by Electrical or Supermarket
Online Supplier	. . . . .	Internet outlet for High st. supplier

There doesn't seem to be a wildcard that I can find that will work. If anyone has any ideas, please let us know.

The list of 'others' is long now, and at a cursory glance I can see shops like B&Q, Argos, House of Fraser in there as well as DVLA and the like.

Daniel is working on it and was due to get back to me sometime after this last weekend to tell me that

the revised categories are ready & I can go ahead and use them

! I'm working my way thru the main list, correcting, deleting, amending (& generally pfaffing around) so I asked him to get a wiggle on otherwise I will have to repeat work to re-categorise.

No the list of Government dept's on my list above was so long that I just finished with a . . . .

Is it also possible to group the number requests together by categories? Currently you have to browse through 21 pages of topics to see if your particular request has already been covered.

But their aren't many online suppliers only. But Online Suppliers are mail order.

Age concern wouldnt fit in "Government Agencys" as it is not one in my eyes. Its a Charity.

Utility companies- yes good idea. (Electric, evil BT, NTL, C&W, tele2 blah blah

Transportation - Planes, Trains and Automobiles. Oh and Taxis, Travel linebasicly anything which moves

Catalogs & Clubs . . . . . Mail Order catlogs but excluding high street stores.

University & College . . . . . yep

Leisure. . . . . Yep, swimming pools, football clubs

CENTRAL Government..... Home Office, DVLA/DVLC, ODPM, GSI, DfT, TfL, Home Office, NHS (including National Blood Service and NHS direct) etc basicly the main gov depts.

LOCAL Government. .... Borough Councils, County Councils, Citizens Advice.

Advice lines.... Age Concern, National Debtline, Citizens Advice, The Smartians.

Charitys ...
Financial . . . . . Investment, Share Dealing &
Companies other than banks

Superstores . . . . . Others not covered by Electrical or Supermarket

High Street Stores ... the local guys

Online Supplier . . . . . Internet outlet for High st. supplier
