I can only speak from my own experience re. Travelodge v. Premier Inn standards.
I have stayed in 2 Travelodges and 1 Premier Inn in Birmingham.
The Travelodge (Central) on Broad Street is an old conversion of an old office block, and looks it. The cleanliness is also not the best. It attracts drunken revellers, and on the lower floors you can often hear the noise of same out on the main road. The staff, however, have been perfectly helpful and polite.
The Premier Inn on Broad Street was purpose-built at - I guess - about the same time. It did not seem to be so plagued with drunken revellers, and was marginally better than the Travelodge (Central) in the other matters that I mentioned. The staff were of about the same standard.
The Travelodge on Newhall Street, which is also pretty central, was purpose-built about two years ago. It had the odd drunken reveller, swiftly dealt with by the staff, who were ok. Being new, it was very well appointed for a budget hotel and despite being central, it is a quiet location.
So I try to stay in the Travelodge on Newhall Street every time I stay in Brum.
Anyway, back to topic: any alternative telephone numbers for the main one?
