Introduction
Telephone numbers must be managed effectively, so that they are available on demand, do not need to be changed, and mean something to those who call them. This is Ofcom’s responsibility. This consultation document considers how telephone numbers are used now, how they will be used in the future, and how Ofcom intends to manage them so that consumers get the maximum possible benefits. Responding to the Consultation Ofcom's consultation response questionnaire contains 61 questions but if you understandably don't wish to answer any or all of these questions then please feel free to choose option 1 below and simply complete the response form and add your own comments/suggestions on what you think of this consultation and Ofcom's proposals, or alternatively, complete Ofcom's online form (option 3) but ignore the questions and add your own comments/suggestions in the 'Additional Comments' box at the end of the online form.
