How about suggestions for how to find geographic numbers that are not so far on this site?

1. Find out where the organisation hiding behind an 0870 number is based. Then search on the internet for that firm's name and the STD code.
2. If you do ring an 0870 number always ask them for a geographic alternative to use when you next ring 'because you're going abroad and ind the 0870 numbers difficult to get thru to'
