greetings from an expat

I welcome and applaud this site as an expat living in France.
0845 / 0870 are a bain as many cannot be dialled from outside the UK and if I can they are charged at a mobile rate.

The sooner ofcom comes up with a non geographic number range that sits in the 01 / 02 number ranges as there is a legitmate use for these services by business as a means of distributing calls to various locations. The problems have only about with the decline in national geographic call charges and the fact that these codes charging rates have not declined to reflect these new rates.

All being well the new VoIP services on 056 and within the 01/02 ranges ought to help. Particularly where 056 forms part of the, for example, BT Together and mobile standard minute tariffs.

I believe that 0345 and 0990 (now, of course, 084 and 087) were invented when there was no revenue share - hence the coach and horses being driven through the tariffs.

But the 0fcom ConDoc looks to address this.

Get those responses in.
