0835 numbers?
Mar 19th, 2005 at 10:27am

My father had a call to an 08357 number on his latest bill from BT.  Didn't knwo what it was.  Strangely, though, it was included in his Friends and Family and was added in Jan 2002.
Even more strange, he had had no previous calls to this number until the last quarter.   Referred to BT but does anybody have any other clues?
(Google search for the number proved fruitless)

Are you sure is isn't 08457? This is common as a special rate number, as the former "local rate" 0345 numbers were changed to this code in the "big number" change.

0845 numbers can be added to Friends and Family (useful for ISPs!)

According to ukphoneinfo there is no such code as 0835, and it does not appear on the BT price list either.

If it really says 0835 on the bill, you should query it with BT as it looks like a mistake.

How much did the call supposedly cost per minite?

It is definitely on the bill, though I don't have that here but I'll check the cost - it wasn't a cheap one! I didn't think there were any 0835s left as they are not listed on BT website's price-guide.
More later as this progresses.

Perhaps, but you have stolen my logo! Perhaps I will have to change?

It's the name of the software, "Yet another Bulletin Board" Roll Eyes that powers this site as well as many others: http://www.yabbforum.com

Shocked Thank you - I found it when I scrolled right down to the foot of the page looking for more adverts.
