As a new member I used the site today to find an alternative geographic number for Tiscali, with success, or so I thought!! The geographic number I dialled contained only a recorded message directing me back to their 0870 number, which at 50p per minute was a blatant rip-off. No doubt other members have discovered this type of profiteering and said so already on previous posts (sorry if I'm raking over old ground!). It begs the question "why do they have a geographic number at all"???

If you really have to ring one at peak rate consider www.18185.co.uk 4p connection then 4p a minute.

I stand corrected!! When I dialled the geo number, I was directed back to the 0870 number which was one of about half a dozen numbers in the recorded message. One of these was a 0906 number for technical support, and it was this number that was being charged at 50p per minute, and I didn't pick this up first time around.

However, the fact remains that the geo number merely directs you back to a non-geo number and one wonders why they have it at all!!!
