			The UK's international code is 0044 or +44 (and you also have to omit the leading 0 of the STD code) from a UK cellphone (not 44) but that will not cause your call to show as 'international' if the receiver has Caller Display.
  141 is the prefix to withhold your CLI when using a UK landline.  In my experience, on a cellphone, that function is achieved by a programming function on the particular cellphone rather than using the 141 prefix.  
  Those 2 issues probably account for your calls failing.
