The excel sheet on the first post lists 020 7853 3500 for the Kilburn Jobcentre. This doesn't work, but 020 7853 3504 gets through to a live person there, although they couldn't help me (see my other post for details)

Thanks for that. I've added an entry for this branch.

You refer to your other post, but this one is your first. Can you explain that?

hi all (: thanks for all the help already listed!

I've been searching for an alternative number to reach Rusholme Jobcentre Plus

tried 020 846 586 04 - no success
0161 912 8300 ditto (is/was a generic number)
0161 912 8301 ditto; 0161 912 8302 ditto
'you have dialled an incorrect number'
> these may close at 4pm??

directgov website: Rusholme Jobcentre Plus, 96 Wilmslow Rd, Rusholme, Manchester, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom, M14 5BJ; Telephone: 0845 604 3719; Textphone: 0845 608 8551; Jobcentre Plus Office

blegh... any help or other advice? thanks!!
good luck to all others currently stuck (;

update: I sort of gave in, rang the 0845 number and then got told they couldn't help me and gave me an 0800 number... ?? /:

I *think* it's the JCP in Bolton I called today, they rang me with 0845 608 8531 and provided a non-08 return number (in a voice mail message) (:
01204 367 377

slightly confused as the site lists 01204 671040?

For Andover jobcentre, the Excel sheet linked to on the first page gives 01264 826000.

However, they give you a small (A6) piece of paper headed 'Missed Appointments'.  On this it says 'Please telephone immediately on 01264 826054 if you cannot come to your appointed interview.'

I've not tried either number as my phone is currently not working and I'm waiting for the BT engineer to contact me.

Norwich Jobcentre
01603 248703

Have also found that 01603 248701 takes you to the central switchboard, so anyone who cant find their local number could use this to at least save money, if not time.

www.gov.uk is now giving the Job Centre switchboard number as 0800 055 6688. Checked it and it works fine so that's verified! The site says that's only for new benefits claims, but when ringing,it includes new and existing claims.  Smiley

Hi NewYorkCity,

I assume you are referring to: https://www.gov.uk/jobseekers-allowance/how-to-claim

I have not yet had to call the number myself, but it's very useful to know.

Kind Regards,

Smiley

Hello and welcome to SayNoTo0870.com.

I have joined your posting to the existing thread for Jobcentre Plus switchboard.

The Department for Work and Pensions, of which Jobcentre Plus is a part, has a policy whereby calls to initiate claims are free. In 2010 it came to an agreement with the main mobile networks so that customers of those networks could call these numbers for free.

As the link provided by CJT-80 says, 0800 055 6688 is for making a claim. Whilst they may put through, it would be innappropriate to channel calls through it by listing it as an alternative.

The listed, verified alternative for JobCentre Plus switchboard is 01603 248701.
