Call UK cheaply FROM abroad

It is clear that is very easy for us in the UK to make cheap calls to numbers abroad.

I'm now interested in the most cost effective way of calling back to the UK when I'm on holiday. I'm going to Tenerife soon, can anyone advise how to obtain the cheapest rates back to the UK? Is there any card or account I can setup before I go?

They seem to have calling cards that can be used from overseas to the UK but don't know the rates. Incidentally the cheapest card for phoning NZ mobiles I found was 13.8ppm anyone do any better? bob

When your abroad you dial a freephone access number, your PIN number then the number you want. I found that I could use my orange mobile to dial the access number for free(Amena network) and only got charged 8p a minute for the call back to the UK.
