Whilst ploughing through the numbering consultation I began to wonder about Ofcom and all these consultations.  Originally I had thought how ill coordinated it seemed to run the NTS consultation before and separately from the Numbering consultation.  Despite our criticisms Ofcom are surely well aware of what they're doing...

I'm now beginning to wonder if this was a deliberate and calculated move by Ofcom!  Perhaps the intention was to almost mop up the widespread anti-0870 feeling before conducting the "real work" of the numbering review.

Its like Ofcom were thinking "We'll let them have their say, suggest a proposal which sounds good but which can easily be side stepped, and then hope they'll shut up!"  Ofcom appear to have pacified those who oppose NGNs to the extent that there are a disappointing number of responses to the numbering consultation so far...

I know this isn't constructive in any way and is just another conspiracy theory but what do others think?

I used to think that, Farci, but not anymore and I don't think I've giving Ofcom too much credit for it either !
