However when I then go to http://www.saynoto0870.com/add.php I still get 'bad referrer' - aaargh! So now the same thing is happening with Firefox as IE7

Wallaby

I think we're still running round in circles here.
How exactly are you gettng to the
ADD A NEW TELEPHONE NUMBER
page ??

Just to reinforce the points given above though:-
  • You can
    ONLY
go to that page from a link contained on THIS website !!
  • You cannot get to it indirectly from a
    favourite
    or
    bookmark
, another website or even by directly addressing it.
However, the error message that now comes up from this site has a link which will take you to the correct page.

Does this come up & work OK ??  Undecided

I have just tried, in vain, to enter a new number - I got at the site from  your main page and immediately received HTTP Referer!("").  The same thing happened when I tried your Contact Us button!  Any help thankfully received

See the post spliced below.

Are you visiting the site and specifically the add page by the saynoto0870.co.uk domain rather than the saynoto0870.com ?

I've got a few new numbers to add, but the section for adding a new number seems to have been down for some time

I notice that you are going to the search page using the .co.uk address and not .com. I have just clicked your link to the search page via the .co.uk address and then clicked the 'add a new alternative number' link and I get the same message.

I will inform Daniel, the site administrator of this and hopefully he can fix this. In the mean time, you can add numbers by going to http://www.saynoto0870.com/add.php

JohnD are you accessing the site/page using the .co.uk address instead of .com ? If so, then this will explain it.

Thanks for the feedback. I've just informed Daniel about this.

Hopefully he can sort this and it will do the trick for everyone else who gets this message over and over again, even when they click the 'add' link.

I noticed that oddity as well. For some reason, you only get the
ERROR
if you use the link from any other than the www.saynoto0870.com pages.
Daniel needs to set the www.saynoto0870.co.uk to redirect to the .com website.

I notice that if you visit the site from www.saynoto0870.co.uk all the links on the green navigation bar at the top takes you to .co.uk including 'Discussion Forum'.

Click this:

http://www.saynoto0870.co.uk/cgi-bin/forum/YaBB.cgi

Notice how you aren't logged in until you click on one of the section names or 'Last Post's as they are on the .com only.

OOOOOOH !!

Most peculiar. No wonder we're getting weird problems. Obviously Daniel must have it set up as a mirror site to even the access load. He should be able to clear that problem up quite quickly when he gets back.

I notice that even if you click on the link given on the .co.uk
ERROR
page, it just gives you the same error again.

hi again

Sorry for the delay in replying - have been on holiday for a month. Ah, the student life...

I am now able to click on the add link from the home page and I get a lovely form to fill in. I have no idea if I was using .co.uk before or .com - oh well it works now. Hurrah!
Thanks to whoever got it sorted.

Now I just have to remember what those numbers were I never got to add... :-)
